Despite fabulous economic growth, Bangladesh right now is facing many social challenges to continue its endeavor towards sustainable development. Our traditional approaches are not enough to effectively deal with these challenges and for such reason, we have to focus on innovative methods to win all threats to the development journey of Bangladesh.
Social Innovation for Development (SID), is a Bangladesh-based organization that mainly focuses on innovation to solve social challenges and to transform the social-economic landscape of the country. SID is committed to effectively implementing its initiatives to help Bangladesh achieve seven goals (Goal-1,2,3,4,5,7&13) of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Currently, SID has five target areas namely agriculture, health, education, environment, and SME.
SID mainly targets rural areas of Bangladesh where people are struggling to avail modern facilities to improve their quality of life. SID is committed to improving the life and livelihood of underprivileged people through technological interventions. SID believes that technology has enormous potential to empower people and influence the growth of the rural economy as well.
Apart from technological solutions, SID organizes events to facilitate collaboration between different stakeholders and to create the right awareness among target groups. Besides, SID also underscores the importance of capacity development among target groups to embrace new methods and solutions to deal with future challenges.
